
Background Screening and New Renewal Requirements Webinar

The Florida Board of Athletic Trainers, in partnership with the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF), hosted a webinar on June 3, 2026, to review important changes affecting athletic trainers ahead of the September 30, 2026, renewal cycle.
During the session, the Board staff outlined new background screening requirements and updated renewal expectations under House Bill 975 (2024), providing practical guidance to support compliance. The presenters reviewed the new mandates, clarified compliance expectations, answered questions, and discussed steps practitioners can take to prepare for a smooth transition as the new processes take effect.
